NAVAL ARCHITECT/MARINE DESIGNER (IJmuiden, the Netherlands)

Job description:
OSD Holland is looking for an all-round designer with affinity towards designing new vessels.  Working in a small team you will be developing General Arrangements, construction drawings and making weight and strength calculations. You will also maintain contact with classification societies.
Your profile:
-B.ENG or M.ENG
-Preferably experienced in ship design
-Knowledge of

   *Autoship/Mac Surf

-Experience in strength/stability calculations

NAVAL ARCHITECT (Montrose, Scotland)

OSD-IMT Ltd. is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Naval Architect to undertake a range of ship design duties within our head office in Montrose, Scotland. Primary responsibility will be for a structural design, and a good working knowledge of major classification society rules is essential.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
-Preparation of preliminary/concept general arrangement drawings
-Preparation of scantling calculations for new ships and modification works
-Preparation of basic design drawings with an emphasis on structure and outfit

Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Naval Architecture, with 3 to 5 years design office experience, or equivalent (10 years +) design office / shipyard experience.

Proficiency in MS Office and Autocad are essential, and experience with the following software will be highly regarded:
*DNV Nautics, Lloyds Rulecalc or similar calculation software
*3D beam / FEA software packages
*Maxsurf / Hydromax /Aveva Initial Design (or similar stability software)
*Rhinoceros and 3D Studiomax
*NavCad
*Ship Constructor

NAVAL ARCHITECT/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (Montrose, Scotland)

A vacancy exists within OSD-IMT Ltd. for a suitably qualified and experienced Naval Architect/Structural Engineer primarily to undertake all aspects of commercial and offshore vessel structural scantling calculations to classification society regulation requirements, carry out local FEA for and occasional global FEA for ship structures and general naval architecture for the design calculations for a range of ship designs which would include but not necessarily limited to the following activities:

• -Ship Scantling and structural design calculations.
• -Preparation of ship class structural drawings in Autocad.
• -Preparation of ship design concept arrangements, layouts, upgrades etc.
• -Preparation of ship design calculations, weight make-up, stability analysis, powering calculations, specifications.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Naval Architecture, with 3 to 5 years design office experience, or equivalent (10 years +) in a ship design office or shipyard technical office with the emphasis on ship structural calculations and structural arrangements.

Proficiency in MS Office and Autocad is essential, and experience with the following software will be highly regarded:

ENGINEERING DESIGNER (UK offices)

A vacancy exist within OSD-IMT Ltd. for an experienced Marine Mechanical Engineering Designer to undertake all aspects of engineering design on a range of ship designs which would include but not necessarily be limited to the following activities:

• -Concept design work
• -Preparation of machinery room layouts on an Autocad 2D system.
• -The design and presentation of mechanical engineering system diagrammatic drawings to Classification approval standard.
• -Familiarity with Classification Rules and regulations and Statutory Regulations as they apply to mechanical engineering systems.
• -A basic understanding of electrical design.
• -Customer liaison activities when required.

A vacancy exists within OSD-IMT Ltd. for an experienced Marine Outfit Designer to undertake all aspects of ship outfit on a range of ship designs which would include but not necessarily be limited to the following activities:

• -Concept design work
• -Preparation of General Arrangement and detailed outfit drawings on an Autocad 2D system.
• -Familiarity with Classification Rules and Regulations and Statutory Regulations as they apply to ship design and outfit.
• -Knowledge of interfacing and space allocation for the various systems included in the outfit of a vessel including detailed accommodation outfit.
• -Customer liaison activities when required.
