The Green Tug project has taken a key step forward with the finalisation of hull lines following model testing. The hull has been optimised for a 7 - 8 knot mobilisation speed without compromising tug tasks.
Dutch research institute TNO is now in the process of comparing the projected emissions from the hybrid tug with those of the conventional diesel tug Triton, a modern unit operated by Iskes Towage & Salvage.
